Anne Arundel Community College at Arundel Mills

Hanover, MD

A Satellite Campus:  In a new off-campus location, this 64,000 sq. ft. facility provides the college with a new setting for commuting students. The building houses all the functions to run an off-campus, stand alone facility.

The college currently has a large population that commutes for only one or two classes per term, while other students commute year-round. This dichotomy prompted the college to look at a different way to offer its services. Digital course work and long-distance learning are also be available.

This is the first stand-alone facility that this college has undertaken, and therefore its image and structure vary from the traditional college campus building.  The building is similar to retail and office buildings in the area and could easily be converted to leased space if the educational program is unsuccessful.

Included are:

• classrooms
• science labs
• auditorium
• computer labs
• offices
• conference rooms
• administration
• canteen and bookstore
