The 215,000 s.f. Aberdeen High School is a replacement high school designed to function as an educational, cultural, and recreational activity center for the entire community.  The school houses 1,500 students in grades 9 -12.

The school is designed for an addition of a third floor suite for the Technology and Engineering Magnet program, which is a Federal Grant-funded pilot program, in a joint effort with the Departments of Education and Defense. The Academy will occupy a special suite on the third floor that promotes research and independent study.

The school was designed to be divided into academies, starting with a freshman academy, followed by the student’s choice of a mathematics/science path or an arts and humanities path. This serves to break down the scale of the 1500-student building into smaller groups of students, promoting the sense of community, and banishing anonymity.
