The new 70,384 s.f. Middletown Primary School is designed for 482 primary students in grades Pre-K through 2nd and is based largely on the prototype Thurmont Primary School design.  Three classroom clusters feed into a "main street" which contains the Media Center, Art, Music, Administration and the Computer Lab.  

Administration is centrally located on Main Street to oversee the bus loop and parking araes.  A Community Center functions as link between the academic spaces off Main Street and the public Cafeteria and Gymnasium spaces.  These large spaces will be made available to the public for community functions and are zoned so that they can be use independently from the academic areas.
