Upper Rock District

The Upper Rock District is a 20-acre, mixed-use, transit-oriented community located off Interstate 270. The site plan concept (by Andres Duany) incorporates New Urbanism principles: a walkable community composed of residential buildings, a market place, an office building, and parking structures.
The residential component includes 844 market rate apartments, condos and live-work units in “donut” style buildings where the parking garage is behind the residential structures. The market place provides 23,500 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
Sustainable features include the site development of a brownfield, vegetated & energy star reflective roofs, bike shelters, walking paths, high efficiency fixtures, etc.
