Grimm + Parker’s staff is deeply committed to changing the way our buildings impact the environment. We are a member of the United States Green Building Council and have more than 40 LEED-Accredited Professionals on our staff.

We have been involved in design for energy conservation since the early 1980’s and have received awards for our innovative designs – even before USGBC and LEEDwere established. In fact, in 1983, Grimm + Parker won the EnComp competition to design a new elementary school, in which energy efficiency was the primary criterion. We have been pursuing strategies that promote energy conservation and wise use of natural resources ever since.

We have made a commitment to design sustainable projects for all of our clients. LEED may be a choice, but sustainability is an imperative. We recognize that decisions made locally impact our environment globally, and that no decision about the use of resources is too small to make a difference. Doing what’s right for the environment begins with a commitment from the conceptual stage – before design even begins – and affects every aspect of a project’s development. We are leaders in daylighting design and high efficiency energy design. In every project, as a matter of standard practice, we explore design alternatives in each of LEED’s categories of green building characteristics.
