Our People

At Grimm + Parker we are committed to being a diverse community because we live in diverse communities.  We know that teams of people, with diverse perspectives and a broad range of experiences, will be best positioned to grow our practice and to create award-winning, meaningful architecture that is successful for our clients and our communities.

We are committed to a sustainable work environment, in addition to sustainable communities and buildings.  We have a flexible workplace where there is room for individual circumstance and wherein we seek a balance of work life and home life.  We know that making time for the important things that make us whole only enhances our ability to contribute to the business.

We are a large firm with the resources and stability of a large firm offering the best tools and supporting mentorship, continuing education, and professional growth.  But because we exist in two locations and are structured in teams within those locations, the day-to-day environment is that of a small firm.

Grimm + Parker is a place where people tend to stay – our turnover rate is much lower than most firms.  One fifth of our employees have been with the firm for more than 10 years, with most of them having been here more than 15 years.

“From the start of the design phase through the final punch lists, your team worked
creatively and cooperatively with Howard County staff. They were exceptionally
adept at understanding the library’s concerns, adapting those concerns and
any ideas staff provided into the final built project. The vision of both Howard County
Libraries, the architect, and those of us personally involved in the process, was
blended to create a fully functional, technologically advanced, and striking facility.”
